Today marks the one year anniversary of my last day at NASA – March 18th 2011 – and as such, begins a series of upcoming one year anniversaries that each mark the beginning of exciting new chapters in what has turned out to be an extraordinary adventure.

What better opportunity to update my website, than to look back at this incredible year of “firsts.” In my final NASA blog post, I wrote that I hoped to “find a garage in Palo Alto to do what I love.” I found that garage – more or less – and some of the most talented engineers and entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley to join me there.

In the next few posts, I will share my story of leaving NASA to build a new kind of computer company that aims to democratize large scale computing and ignite a new era of global innovation by making big data and large scale computing accessible to all businesses.
